Today, the 21st I Feel Slovenia Thermana Laško Open began in Laško. The opening ceremony was dedicated to Gorazd Vecko, who unexpectedly passed away last October.
On behalf of the organizers, Matija Krnc and Mateja Pintar Pustovrh paid tribute to Gorazd’s memory. Gorazd was also her coach, and in 2004 Mateja became a Paralympic champion under his guidance.
Matija and Mateja reflected on Gorazd’s role, significance, and impact, especially highlighting his optimism and the trust he placed in his players.
The ceremony concluded with a minute of silence in his honour. Mateja Pintar Pustovrh was among the first to sign a large table tennis paddle placed on the competition table in the hall as a lasting tribute to his memory.
